On the Ground Working for You

In various communities across the rural area the DUP can be seen out on the ground meeting with groups of individuals, seeing at first hand many of the ongoing problems that are within their community. Meeting representations on their behalf to the Housing Executive, Roads Service, Waterside and Planning Service and may other Government agencies.

Rural Planning and Agriculture

As our largest industry and biggest employer, agriculture is one of the mainstays of Northern Ireland's economy. The DUP support policies which will preserve and promote the agricultural industry and the rural community. We also continue to fight for rural dwellers on the issue of relaxing planing regulations to allow the rural community to live and work in the countryside.

Rural Transport

Rural communities are totally deprived by the lack of good public trasport within the rural area. The DUP has been an effective voice in the support of developing public transport in disadvantaged rural communities.

Opposing Water Charges

The DUP are to the forefront in opposing the introduction of water charges in Northern Ireland.

De-rating Orange Halls

The DUP have won the battle for the de-rating of Orange Halls across Northern Ireland.

For Lower Rates

The DUP is the party that cares about you. Each year the DUP is prominent in arguring for prudence in Local Government rates. Where there are most DUP councillors elected to local government; people benefit from lower rates.

The DUP are the only Unionist Party to have established a full-time constituency office in Londonderry.
